More transects and internal waves

Today, the Kalipi continued sampling with the ADCP and fast profiling CTD during transects, again seeing several internal wave convergence lines along the way.  (post by Jenny)

Jim and Matt using the CTD near an internal wave foam line.

ADCP data when passing through several internal waves. The wave fronts are so full of biological activity that unfortunately the ADCP cannot see through it to measure the currents. At first we thought the bottom had suddenly shallowed from 12 m to 3 m, so we stopped the boat and did a sounding with the CTD and found out that the water was still 12 meters deep. Many birds were catching fish in those regions.
