1- Model Configurations

All the simulations shown in the youtube videos below are performed with UCLA ROMS and includes tides. Surface wave effects are not yet included. We conducted a 4-level nested-grid realistic configurations of Southern California Bight. The horizontal resolutions of L0, L1, L2 and L3 models are approximately 4 km, 1 km, 300 m and 100 m, respectively. Model domains of L1, L2 and L3 are shown in the Figures 1, 2 and 3, respectively. In the youtube videos, results from L3 level are shown (see the videos at the end of this page).

Simulation periods:

  • L1 (1 km resolution) : October 5th, 2006 – October 10th, 2007.
  • L2 (300 m resolution) : November 3rd, 2006 – April 30th, 2007.
  • L3 (100 m resolution) : November 20th, 2006 – December 31st, 2006.
  • L3 (100 m resolution) : March 5th, 2007 – April 15th, 2007.
